That there is an ad here on CC for "delicious birthday cookies and cakes" from 1800flowers.com? I first noticed it when I was just looking at a cake photo. I saw it as a little add on the left under My Recipe Box... and it's over to the right in the Ads by Google strip.
I just thought that was kinda ironic considering that the majority of people that come here do so because they make their own. 
maybe they are getting sponsorship now to afford our site 
the ads are most likely auto-generated by google because of this site's content. their search engines pick up "cake, cookies" and th e like so the ads for cakes and cookies get placed there.
It's similar to gmail, yahoo and even myspace. Have you ever noticed on myspace how "relavent" the ads are when you log in? I get ads for cake stuff there too, because I have that as a keyword from my interests area.
They're smart, those advertisers!
