I tried my first doll cake this weekend and it did not turn out like I expected. icon_confused.gif So I have questions.

How big should my fondant be? Some how I calculated 14 inches, I was wrong.

How do you make those pleated skirts? The top of my skirt laid flat and I only had pleats on the bottom.

Can you fill a doll cake?

Thanks for your help.

I believe the doll cake on the front of the wilton book a few years back said to make rolled fondant tubes and set around the dress from the waist down..then when you set your fondant ontop the pleats will naturally fall around the rolls.I have never filled a doll cake since I usually use a full size Barbie doll down the centre.
