I am thinking of doing a sponge bob cake and I want to do the pineapple on top. What pan could I use to make it? Do they sell those egg pans this time of year? Is there a football pan or something? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

You could use three 5 inch rounds stacked and carve the shape out.

I think there is a football pan but don't quote me on it... : )

Otherwise it would be fairly easy to carve. I have been wanting to make SB's pineapple house for a while but haven't had an excuse to yet.

Best wishes,

you could use the wondermold pan, if you have it. I know I'm going to go get that pan as it can be used for sooooo many things. (no barbies in this house icon_wink.gif )

okay I looked it up...maybe the mini wondermold. I was thinking maybe I could make two and trim the bottom half of one. Do you think that would work? Do they sell the wondermolds at the store all of the time?

I always see the wondermold pan at Michael's but don't know about the mini one. Good Luck!

There is a football pan from Wilton. We used it to make Easter eggs by rounding off one end. I was trying to figure out a way to use it to make the pineapple myself. You could cut the football in half and stand it up back to back. I'm just not sure how to make it stay up. Would you please PM me if you decide to go this route and figure out how to make it stay up? My son's b-day is in a couple of months so I'm trying to work out a solution.

Well I decided on the mini wonder mold. The regular one was just too big for the cake I want to do. I looked at the football one too, but think this mini wonder mold might work better. I think I will bake two and then put the flat sides together and trim off the bottom. Hopefully it will work! I will keep you updated!
