I only know how to make the bc icing. I've tasted cakes that are made out of cool whip but don't melt or have to be refrigerated. It doesn't taste sweet. Does anyone know what I'm talking about. I would like to learn to make a different kind of icing that isn't so sweet like the bc.

There is a non dairy product called DREAM WHIP. I buy it al walmart, normally it is in the baking aisle next to the pudding mixes and the pie fillings.
It is a little box and has a powder inside, you have to mix it with liquid (milk, water, coffee, etc) and then whip it for 5 minutes. You can add a little bit of sugar and make it as sweet as you want.
It is just like whipped cream but it is more stable and of course less sweet than BTC, but also is real soft so you cannot do all the things you can do with buttercream.

I think you're talking about Rich's Bettercreme -which is what many supermarkets use for their "whipped cream icing". There isn't a recipe, rather - you buy it frozen and whip it up. Some supermarkets will sell it to you if you give them advance notice.

Sam's Club sells it but you have to ask a bakery worker and make sure they give you a bucket from their freezer.
