My first time making choc. ganache & I didn't like the type that I made. I had read that you could use a box of instant pudding and add heavy cream and just mix it up. Well, I did that & it wasn't sweet enough or chocolatey enough. So I added so melted choc. & that helped the taste, but of course, the left tiny specks of choc. in the ganache. Next time, I think I will stick to using choc. chips or baking choc. & not try to take the easy way out. I did go ahead & use it on my cake. We'll see if the customer is a big fan of it or not.
Yeah.. I have never heard for making ganache with pudding.. it wouldn't be real ganache.. Chocolate and heavy cream.. that's the only ganache I know of. I hope your customer doesn't mind. Let us know what happens. ![]()

This ganache is wonderful! It's easy to make, and pour, tastes good, and stays shiny! Great recipe!
I've used a box of instant pudding and heavy whipping cream as cake filling, but not to make ganache.
Yes, I know that this would make a mouse filling. That's what I had intended it for, not as a frosting or glaze. I probably didn't mention that in my original post. I had read in a "ganache" posting that a few people had used it this way, so I gave it a try. I know that this is not true ganache, and I will never call it that again. I promise (ha-ha)
.
I already have several recipes & tips I printed off from baking911.
Thanks everyone!
