... where do you get them?

The cake boxes that I get at Micheals seem a bit flimsy. I'd love to be able to buy some that are sturdier even if I have to buy them in bulk. Any ideas would be appreciated?

TIA

I'd like to add a cake box too question if I could...

Where can you find tall ones? Most I've seen readily availalbe are only around 6" tall. I like to make TALL single-tier cakes, so I'm looking for boxes for a 9" round that's around 9" or more tall. I have seen them before at bakeries but not at a supply store yet.

So we need both sturdy and tall cake box sources...

I have been using regular shipping boxes because cake boxes are very flimsy and they are not very tall either.
I make the boxes pretty by using scrapbook paper or stamping on them.

This way, if I have a problem getting the cake down into the box, all I do is slit the sides down and then tape them back up after putting the cake inside.
I get mine from Uline. They have great prices! I buy the Cube Boxes and the flat boxes (for sheet cakes)

The last sheet cake I made was 5 inches tall by itself not including what the cake was sitting on! So, My 10 inch tall box works great!!

Here is their site

qtkaylassweets - Thanks for the info.

Anyone else have ideas? Maybe a way to make a flimsy box sturdier?

TIA

You should check at your local walmart. I've bought a couple there before. You might have to check with a bakery manager as not all the bakers know if you can, and they just say no. I've also had them just give me one when I just needed one.--Very nice of him. icon_smile.gif
Also, try calling those bakeries that you've seen them at and ask them where they buy them.
