Well, I got my shoe and purse cake done, but in the end I was not very happy. My friend was she loved it all I could see were the boo boo's and one of them just stuck out. I was concentrating so hard on the formation of my letters I spelling birthday wrong, had to scrap it off but the black frosting stained the MMF. The shoe box lid didn't dry enough, this was my fault didn't give it but 15 hours to dry, so I didn't use it. Then I thought well there is pink on the purse and the cake; why not put some on the shoe. I went out and got what I thought was wiltons version of luster dust, but it is just smaller glitter. It was called shimmer dust, so then my shoe just looked miserable. In the end though, the cake was completely gone in 15 mins. she is a teacher and I brought it up to her school; it did taste good. The shoe box is alternating layers of which choc. pound cake and dark choc. fudge cake with choc. ganach for a filling and raspberry buttercremem for a frosting with MMF for a cover. The purse is dark choc. fudge cake with the same fillings as the shoebox. I have learned so much with this cake, and can't thank everyone enough for all the help they gave so freely. I can't wait to start my next cake. I am just not sure what to do, or where it will go when I am done with it. I know I want to make another shoe, that was much fun. Thank you again. If you want to see my cake it is in my photos.

Ah, we are all such perfectionists aren't we ??? LOL. In a sense, though, that is good, I think because we want to do the very best job we know how.

One of the things I love about this site is that people are so positive and are very gracious with their comments!

By far, you did a great job! thumbs_up.gif

Don't concentrate on the mistakes so much. Instead, use them as building blocks to making your next baking project that much better!

Thank you so much for all your kind words. I thought about what you have said and I guess I am going to be my hardest critic. As long as I don't make the same mistakes again it was a good experience. I still am not sure what to do next but can't wait to get started. lol that makes no sense. Have a good night y'all.
