I have a wedding cake in two weeks and the lady showed me a pic of a cake with candlesticks in the top. I figured there would be some sort of holder made for cakes that I could buy online somewhere but I can't seem to find anything. Is there a secret to this? These are not birthday candles but regular candles that you would put in a holder at home, maybe slightly smaller.
I think I've seen that pic and I can't wait for a bride to order it! The candles look to me like they are the really slim tapered and it appears you put them right into the cake. If you're concerned about the look after you put candles into the cake, then decorate the base with some extra icing flowers or silks.
When I did this cake I put the flowers on and then just stuck the candles right in to the cake. The only problem I had was that the candles burned pretty quick, so by the end of the night the were really short. Try to get long-burning candles if you can. Good Luck!!

I would be concerned about wax getting on the cake. if you are doing a cake like beckysue then maybe you can put a smaller cake board on the cake then the flowers to cover the board and then just stick the candles in so that the wax gets on the board and not the cake. HTH
