Hi -

I've only been on this board for a little while - love it SO much. I thought that you guys might be able to give me some words of encouragement.

I have a (second) interview tomorrow for a job at a cake bakery (new, not established yet). Tomorrow I bring my cake samples...

Murphy's Law has been on overtime w/me - almost everything that COULD go wrong, has...

I have three beautiful dogs - one got violently sick on Weds. Thank God she is fine, now (and home - YEA!), but we got the worst scare ever. The vet thinks she ate something toxic, or flat-out poison - we don't know... it's been the most stressful week (I have slept very little, needless to say).

Car - just replaced my two front tires - now the back one has a slow (I hope) leak, and - the battery died (yet again).

Hopefully it will turn over w/my son gives me a jump.

Trying not to panic, trying not to panic...

I live in the Boston area, and I have a little foldable cart to wheel my boxes of cake samples.... so I figured plan B would be to take the T (subway) in. Hopefully the ride won't destroy the samples...

Oh - it's pouring rain right now. More rain is predicted for tomorrow.

Would someone tell Murphy to get away from me???

Anyway, I am determined to make this work, and also to NOT stress out - too much...

Somebody tell me all will be well!!!

taza

p.s. I am going to be extremely busy (goe w/out saying), so while I will take peeks at my computer, most likely I won't be able to reply to anyone tile tomorrow (when I will post some photos, also).

Sounds to me like everything will be fine - you can't have more than three bits of bad luck in a row - so dog ill, car broken, raining - now you're due some good luck. Whenever I get a bit of bad luck I wait for two more and then know I'm home and dry for a bit. Good luck in your interview. I have a show tomorrow so am also getting dummies etc. ready to show. Here's a massive bit of sugary good luck for you and do let us know how you get on icon_smile.gif

I just want to wish you well and hope the job is yours. GOOD LUCK and let us know!!!
Just think, at least you have the option of using the T to get there with your samples. As for the rain, just set the samples in double plastic bags.
We don't have the "T" further out. NOR do we have buses or even taxi service!! So things are looking up 'cause you at least have transportation and you don't have to worry about finding parking in town. icon_smile.gif

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words - and thank you, skinnycakelady, for the prayers.

cakes47 - where in N.E. are you? I've lived in different parts of MA, in the past, and I have some hope of eventually getting a piece of land to build a small - no, tiny - house someday.

Emmascakes - I love your name! That's my sweetie's name, my border collie who was extremely sick this week - Emma. (She's doing well, by the way, and I am so happy).

My mother used to say the same about bad things coming in three's. Only problem - how many 'threes'?

My son went to give my car a jump - and his car died, too! Fortunately our neighbor came home, & gave his car a jump - but mine is dead. And the rain is still coming down. So I rescheduled my interview. Hopefully it won't work against me... I'll be able to do a better job at my presentation, too. I tried to make Rose Beranbaum's Neoclassic Buttercream, and I've ended up trying to whip it by hand.. don't know if I can save this... but I am oh, so tired, and would just like to go to bed, at this point.

Hi taza ~ You know, some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed!!!! Let's hope all the bad luck is washed away with the rain.

I'm from North Reading. Born in Boston ''many'' years ago. I've lived here for most of my life.

Good luck again!!!!!!!!!!!

Taza,
They say God only gives us what we can handle......
I've decided to be weak now cuz I also can't handle the stress anymore! ha, ha. Yes, bad stuff in 3's. I agree, but how many 3's?
When you get through all this, you'll laugh and have a great story to tell!
Wishing you the best.

Good Luck, Good Luck, Good Luck! There's 3 in a row to hopefully combat away the bad luck three's.

I'm sure you will do fine. Just hang in there and remain calm, cool, and collected. CC members have your back. This is even better than real family some times.

Taza, born in Lynn, I'm up in Groveland for the past 18 years. You are better off taking the T if you have an unreliable battery. I'd rather have my battery die in my own driveway than in Boston! Good luck on the interview. Let us know how it went.

We all have those "series of unfortunate events" at one time or another. Those times when bad luck seems to have nothing to do but focus on you. After though, I am always very proud that I made it through without losing it. And prayer always helps.

Thanks guys - I did reschedule the interview. I don't think they will hold it against me - they seem really, really nice.

But I have more pressing problems right now. My Emma had a seizure early this morning, and I have to find a way - some way - to get her to Angell Memorial, because the local vet doesn't have the diagnostic equipment. Also, her right eye was affected by the seizure (I'm worried it could have been a stroke.)

Thanks guys - more later...

(please keep Emma and me in your prayers)

You have my prayers and I'm sure the prayers of all your friends here at CC.
Hopefully you have family near or neighbor or friend who can run you in town.
