them). My hands are hurting--think the batch was a tad too stiff. I feel like Fred Sanford from Sanford & Son always complaining about his arthritis--lol

I just loaded up two bags of icing, but this body went kaput. I put them in airtight ubs. Will they last till the morning? Should I put a wet papertowel in there too?

How long does it usually take for the flowers to dry?

I really could see the progression of "how the hec do I get to do right?" to "wow this is cool!". I am here to say I am addicted(and I have not taken any classes yet!!).

I hope they dry right.

ALso here to say...........................I am exhausted.

If you want them to dry, don't put them in an air tight container (air tight continer holds moisture in and they will not dry/set), don't put a damp towel on them (again that is keep moisture in them) and don't put them in the refrigerator. I have my students use shirt boxes/gift boxes. The top is to just keep dust, animal hair, small children, etc, etc. away from them.
You didn't say what kind of icing you used. Buttercream or royal icing?

Thanks for your response! icon_smile.gif

I used royal icing. I used the recipe with cream of tartar/6oz water etc....it was too much for my Kitchen Aid though. I had to take some out. It makes a lot. The ones I left out on the counter(no pets here!) are nice and dried. The ones in the oven(no heat/not on) are still a bit damp--I just opened the over door to see if that helps.

I think they are very pretty and once you get the hang of the twisting your hand right, they are easy. My arm still hurts a bit(5 trays worth) but I am pleased with the results being 1st time doing it.

I will say that every time I do something new, I gain more respect for bakers! icon_biggrin.gif Years ago I could not understand how a woman around here charged $40 for a 1/4 sheet with bc and a shell border and a few other accents, but now I have seen the light! It IS lots of work. BUT it is FUN!!!!!
