I would like to know.....can you put pearl dust on colored fondant? Will the colored fondant just pick up a sheen, but still be mostly the original color? icon_redface.gif Or will the pearl dust only work on white? How would I get that shimmer on my color, but not neccisarly using any color?

That works just fine. You can use just the sparkle dust and it will shimmer really nicely.

I just used pearl dust on a grey colored fondant to give it a metallic sheen. I needed it to look like a silverish metal and it worked great.

I did this on my 'Prince' cake. Just dry dusted it onto the crown.

When you touch a dry dusted fondant piece, some of the pearl dust will come off to your hands. To prevent this, steam the fondant piece to set the dust.
