I have a 2-tier stacked cake due tomorrow - I just finished it (for the 3rd time...long story), but realized that I forgot to put the one long dowel all the way down through the cake. Does anybody think I can transport this thing about 20 minutes away without the top tier sliding all over the place?

can you throw the cake in the fridge? if you deliver cold it should be just fine. Thats how i do mine, and have delivered up to 4 tiers stacked with out the stake in the center just cold, with the ac cranked in the car.

You are so brave!! I would never transport my cakes already stacked. I assemble all my cakes on site. Even if its next door and takes 30 minutes. My advise would to not take the chance. Remember! Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong! And if you decide to chance it, remember to prepare for the worst. Always bring a emergency kit for repairs. Good luck icon_smile.gif

I agree with peg818 I've done the samething with my cake I put it in the fridge (three Tier) and it traveled just fine.

Thanks for the input! It's definitely too late now to throw in the dowel, so it's going in the fridge not til delivery later this afternoon. Thanks everyone!! I'm hoping for the best!
