I finished my first tiered cake today. I set it up and doweled it at home and drove with it. I was a freaking wreck! I just knew I was going to get there and have a disaster, but all was well. Everyone was very pleased with it and it was sure tasty! Now that I have my first one under my belt I think I will be much more confident next time. I made a few mistakes..used too thin of icing on the bottom layer of the top tier so it's sliding (we told people it was a whimsical design icon_lol.gif ) and my chocolate transfer isn't very good. Dora looks black instead of mexican icon_cool.gif .

I don't understand how your icing was too thin and it made it do that? I am freaking out now!!! I have to do one for my class and I want to use three cakes and I have never done it before but your cake looks beautiful Dora looks brown enough to me!

It's cute and who doesn't love Dora? Did you make your stars and flowers? They look awesome on the cake.

Yep, I made the stars and flowers.
Cakedecor, I'm guessing the icing just was too thin to make the next layer stay put. I ran out of the BC I made and I had a can of Wilton and I think I just used a little too much water. But honestly that is just a guess. If that's not why it slid I have no idea.
