How long in advance can I place RI flowers and such on a cake iced in buttercream? Everything I read says grease breaks down RI, so I'm wondering if it's safe to put the RI stuff on the night before the cake is to be eaten?

thanks.

Well, here goes and I know you'll get plenty of other suggestions!

As long as your decorations made with RI are hardened and dried before placing on the icing, they'll be fine. The night before will work, it's just that they soften up after too long sitting on the icing.

Grease will break down RI when it comes in contact before hardening, or when mixing. Does that make sense?
