I'm wondering when you deliver small cakes, like an 8" round birthday cake, do you always bring it in a cake box and give it to the customer that way?

Or do you just transport it in a box and then hand it to them on the cake board?

The cake boxes are expensive, just wondering.

I always use one to transport mine in but if i know them really well I leave it in the car. but if it is a new client and you want to impress them presentation including the box is everything.

I always box it, it looks professional, keeps the cake clean and I also put one of my business card stickers on the box so that any partyt goers who like the cake can see where it came from!

I box all of my cakes even stacked cakes. For the cakes that are not stacked I place a ribbon around the cake box for better presentation.

For stacked cakes, I buy tall shipping boxes from UPS & FedEx stores, etc.

I always box a cake with my business card stickered on it because I'm thinking if they buy at a bakery, they'll always get a box and I want to look professional also. But if it is a friend or family member, I always want the box back!

I box all mine. A business card gets attached to each one and I always use the boxes with a clear film panel in the lid

I box all of my cakes. I put a sticker with my business info on top of each box, and I staple my brochure to the front of each box.

I can't buy boxes anywhere here, and shipping them in costs a fortune! I think I bought 4 x 12x16in boxes (for sheet cakes) from the UK once and it cost me nearly £20 in postage icon_eek.gificon_eek.gificon_eek.gif ! I'm not about to start adding that kind of price to my cakes just to cover the cost of a box! I save all the cardboard boxes that I have things sent to me in (mainly from Ebay icon_wink.gificon_lol.gif !), and use those. If I am delivering a cake, then I use big plastic containers for safety. If the customer wants to keep the cake in those boxes, then I just arrange to collect/have them returned at a later date.
