I'm in the middle of rolling out my mmf and I have a zillion little air bubbles in it. I've tried pin pricking, but there are way too many & I can't get it to smooth out. Any ideas?

Also, has anyone noticed a change in your mmf when using different brands of shortening? I typically use crisco, but I ran out so for this batch I used the Walmart kind when I made it yesterday. Not only do I have the bubbles, but it's also very soft to the point of being nearly unmanageable. I've never had either of these problems before. Do you think the shortening could be the culprit?

Thanks for your help! This cake is for tonight! YIKES!

I have never had this problem but I have read on here in other posts that some use Walmart shortening and have no problems. There is another post however where someone had bubbles as well. I will see if I can find it and post a link. Good luck!
