I have to set up a wedding cake at 10:00 and the wedding isn't until 5:30. Will it be ok? It is a stacked cake.

As long as it is well supported and it is NOT HOT it should be fine.

It is inside, I am assuming...... well, it all depends. Is there going to be someone there in charge of receiving the cake? If so- have them sign something saying that you aren't responsible for it after you leave it! There have been so many posts on here about people wanting their money back. You may already do this, but it is just a precaution. I would think it would be ok as long as it is in a well- ventilated and cool area.

That makes me feel better. I am using the plastic dowel rods and the building is air conditioned. I have gumpaste flowers to put on, but am considering coming back later to put them on. Afraid the shortening will soak into them.

Why do you have the set the wedding cake up so early? It can't wait till later? I am sure it will be fine but was just wondering??

The release form is ESSENTIAL if you will be leaving the cake several hours. I delivered a wedding cake, set it up, took pictures (which saved me later) and left. The cake was set up and looked just great. Then, the DJ decided he wanted to move his music equipment in the banquet hall, so he and some "guys" moved the cake and somehow managed to knock a pillar loose, and the cake slid, and there was a big "palm print" on the side where they tried to catch it. They tried to pass it off as "already that way" when they moved it. Luckily, I had pictures. Later, one of the little guys who saw this, confessed that the men did it and agreed to act like it was not them who make the mess of the cake. I would definitely get something in writing if you leave it, AND take pictures of it before you leave!
