I am in the process of making a wedding cake using champagne flutes as seperators. It is an easy design, I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas on securing the flutes to the board or even if I should. It seems stable enough, but they are a little top heavey BEFORE putting champagne in them. I am attaching the picture that the bride gave me to ue for inspiration. Thanks!

If you are a little concerned about the weight, you might try some double stick tape at the bottom of the glass or maybe some royal icing. You can always cover it with some roses. Make sure you dowel rod the bottom cake to help support the weight.

Hmmm, Ri is a great idea. I will strongly consider it!

Actually, your recess them in cardboard. For example, take an 8" round, draw four glass bottoms on it, and cut them out. Next take another 8" round and glue it to the one you just cut. This will give you a solid side and a cut out side. Do the same for the top. Bind the edges of each round with white floral tape. Now insert the glasses.

Hope that makes sense.
