hey- this has only happened a couple of times (one of those was today) when you spend so much time on a cake--are looking forward to the pick-up and to the reaction--and its a monotone "oh, that looks good."
I want my cakes to go to a loving family
--But really, maybe I'm overly sensitive...but what a downer!
I know how you feel. This happened with the Range Rover cake in my photos. The girl ordered it for her fiancee and her fiancee's mother picked it up. She did the same thing, "Oh, that's nice." I was rather worried that it wasn't right until I got the exited email from the girl who ordered it. Then I knew everything was fine.
Yes, they just don't understand what goes into their cakes- they just see the wonderful finished product. I guess any craft (as in craftsmanship) is that way. We don't appreciate it fully until we see the creation and all that goes into it!! That's what Cake Central is for. We understand and can Oooh and Aaah over each other's cakes!!!
So, dolcesunshine20 - huge ooohs and aaahs over that Rover cake!! Those are HARD to do! And you did it splendidly! I still can't do those yet!!
I agree with everyone else, not everyone knows what goes into creating a cake. I just looked at your photos, ALL of your cakes are gorgeous. I can only hope to be that good one day!
