Does anyone know how to do a tree stump? I am not sure how to get the wood grain look. I do not use fondant just buttercream. Any help would be great. Thanks

stump is just a tall tier (multiple layers stacked and doweled)

then pieces of cake cut and added to create roots.

slather thickly in BC that crusts

they use knife to get deeper grooves and fork for shallower grooves.
