Help!! Need A Cake To Feed 40 People!!
Decorating By whaley_s Updated 5 Jul 2007 , 5:59pm by whaley_s
I have a request for an adult cake to feed 40 people. It's going to be the lady (torso) in the teddy with boobs added (I have a boobie pan for that)
I've already baked one layer, which is about 10 x 15 (it's a lasagne type pan) and I'm going to bake another layer of the same. I'm also adding the boobie cake on top but I'm really nervous that this cake wont feed enough people but I don't know how to make it feed anymore!!
If the cake's cut in 2" slices it'll only cut about 24 pieces. Plus the boobs, which will probably serve 10 slices.
The only thing I can think of is to instruct the client to cut in 1" slices, but that's TINY!! HELPP!!!!
What should I do?!? Thanks!
Thank you thank you!! I just hope that's enough!! I'm always scared that it wont end up being enough cake and then the client will be upset!! ![]()
1" x 2" just seems so small... I like my big slice of cake!! I think the cake should be about 4" high, plus the boobs...
Thanks again! I'll make sure to update on how it turns out!
single layer 10x15 --- cut into 2x2 pieces --
thats 5 x 7.5 == 37.5 servings
you've doubled the size...
so can cut smaller pieces --
2x1.5
so thats 5 x 10 = 50 servings -- good sized ones (2 layers after all!)
and we haven't even added in the boobs yet.
-----
remember -- for sheet cakes the standard is 2Lx2Wx2 D (one layer is usually 2in deep)
double layer, now 4in deep, can go all the way down to 2Lx1Wx4D and still have same amount of cake per serving.
----
you've got PLENTY of cake there.
