Yes - make sure you ask them to put in plastic! If they have a fresh bread area - those bags are awesome!!! Then zip it up at home!
Dang, my post din't go through, arrrggghh!!!
O well, here goes again.
D77, if you find that it gets a little bit brittle before the big day, take the image (do this just before you apply it) and spritz it VERY lightly with water from a mister bottle. Let it sit for a few minutes so that it reconstitutes and then apply it.
If you are putting it on bc and the bc is already crusted, just spritz it lightly also and then apply the image.
I have found though that if you apply it too soon, then the images tend to either fade or get all sweaty n glossy looking. (espcecially if you put them on cakes frosted with the non-dairy whipped type icings) So in my experience I would put the image on the cake as close to pick up time as possible.
Also make sure that you keep them out of the light. They will fade BADLY if even exposed to indoor lighting especially the flourescent kind. I would sandwich the image between two cake boards in the bag (keeps em from folding n breaking and protects them from light).
yup, keep sealed into ready to use, they can dry out very quickly, even an hour or so can make it get hard around the edges, a little trick if you have trouble seperating it from the backing. right b4 you put it on the cake stick it in the freezer for like 10-15 sec and use and sharp knife to get a corner up and use an off-set spatula to pull it off completely
