is it better to use water or clear vanilla to attach fondant????

What are you attaching the fondant pieces too? BC or Fondant? When I have attached the fondant pieces to BC, I have just used a little bit of water, and it stuck great. Some use the vanilla, some use piping gel. And for fondant on fondant, can use the above or a gum glue=) Let us know what you are attaching it too and if you still have questions. Jen
