I've just had my first order for a wedding cake! I'm so mixed between excitement and fear. I have done so many special occasion cakes but never a wedding cake and it feel like an incredible responsibility to hold the centerpiece to a wedding in my hands. The cake itself will be fairly simple, I have been given a photo of the general idea for the cake. Anyways, does anyone have a vanilla filling recipe that it fairly light and airy?
Thanks
try making the filling for whoopie cakes, but add vanilla bean to it -try this one ..... ** heat 1c. milk with1\\4 c. flour, pinch salt- (cook med heat untill thick )cool 1 hour in icebox -beat 1 c. sugar 1 t. vanilla or 1 vanilla bean scraped -with 1/2 c. butter,1/2c. crisco - add flour mix and beat till fluffy about 4-5 min. good luck !!!!!
