I need some help. I'm going to try and make my daughters 1st b-day cake for next weekend. I want it to kind of match the invitation. Should I draw a cupcake on it or just use the colors. Please help me. I'm not too good with coming up with ideas on my own. I need ideas for the big cake and her smash cake. I was thinking of drawing a one on the smash cake like the invite. ?

For the big cake you could use the colors and designs (dots and circles) on the cake... If you're making a small multi-tier, you could have each tier like the different patterns on the sections of the invite. Then for the smash cake (and maybe as the top tier itself) you could make a cupcake like the one on the invite or make a six inch cake to look like the cupcake itself. HTH '

how about the main cake is like the lower left square of the invitation

and the smash cake is the cupcake square (or even a cake shaped like a cupcake)

How about a cupcake tree with the cupcakes decorated with pastel stripes and dots like the invite? The top tier can be a 6" cake carved and made to look like a big cupcake.

for my sons smash cake I put an elmo cupcake on top of the cake. You could put a cupcake like the one from the invite on top of another. (see my pics)

Wilton has a great cupcake cake pan that would fit your invitations great.

Thanks everyone. I think I want to do the smash cake like the lower left corner with the number one. I was thinking about doing the big cake pink like the top left corner and putting a cupcake to match on top. I'm trying to figure out how to add the pastels in. For a border maybe? If I wanted to do a stacked cake with two different tiers, what should I make the second one. The yellow, or white with pastels?

I agree with Doug. I think the Bottom Corner of the invite would make a cute cake. Maybe if you wanted to you could draw some flowers that match the colors. I'm a big advocate for the littleones having their own cake for the 1st birthday. But they never eat it. So what if you were to make just a single cupcake to replicate the one on the invite.

It seems like a great theme. I hope you have a wonderful day. What ever you do don't stress. It's for you and It'll be great no matter what.

I've decided to do the smash cake like the lower left corner in green. I'm going to do the big cake (10 in. round) frosted light pink with the pink dots. And then with a cupcake to match on top. What else could I add to it. All I can think of is a pastel border.

I just saw a new 3D cupcake pan made by Wilton "dimensions". That would be cute and then you could decorate it with the colors from the invitation. Good luck!
