I'm so proud! My 25 yr. old son made his first cake(with a little help)! It's the stars and stripes one in my gallery. He came home for a visit from New Mexico, where he was recently transferred by the truck washing company he works for. We were celebrating his B-day while he was here so I made him a semi truck in a truck wash cake for his b-day(in my gallery, too). He loved it!!! He even had his regional supervisor come over to see the cake. (BTW, we have yet to cut it...he won't let us!). He was so fascintated that he had to try this "cake decorating thing". OK, we can make a 4th of July cake. We stayed up until about 4 am today to finish this cake. He designed it. He helped bake it, make the MMF fondant and did all of the stripes perfectly, even came up with a few ideas and techniques that I hadn't thought of. He had his fiancee help a little too, but he made the cake!!! He did a really great job! I think he was proud of his results...I know I am!....So Move Over Duff...well we can only hope!

I LOVE it! I wish I could have watched it being made - I'm sure I would have learned some things.

Well, we took his cake out to his future in-laws tonight. They were impressed that he actually made this cake himself! I told him to keep practicing....he can make his own wedding cake!
