I just saw a cake and said .... and colour flow dress. What is colour flow? How do I get my things looking so good. In the past I have just watered down royal but if it is coloured it has made it go yucky.
Please help - I really want to give this a go. Thanks
Color flow is similar to royal icing (just crusts ALOT quicker). It is sold as a powder (I know Wilton sells a container of the mix). Add mix until you get the consistency you want. Stiff color flow is used to outline the object you are making and then thinned color flow is used for fill in. The difference between royal and color flow is that color flow will have a "puffed" appearance.
Not sure about bleeding, but it has no oil/shortening, so the oil in your buttercream or fondant will be absorbed and will break down. You have to wait until up to the last to put the colorflow on or use something like sugar cubes or mini marshmallows to hold it up off the icing.
