I'm making my first buttercream transfer - Dora the Explorer and I'm trying to figure out if I should do the design using start tips or is there another way to fill in all the colors that would come out smoother??? It seems like the stars might not smooth out as evenly as I'd like! Thanks

Welcome to CC! I love FBCTS! I use round tips and depending on the detail use tips numbers 2,3,or4. I find that if I use a thin icing I get less squiggles, and if I put a small amount of crisco smeared on the wax paper I don't have them stick to the paper. You will find lots of tips in the threads if you search FBCT.

Good luck with Dora!

i am doing a cake for saturday and I am going to do a FBCT. I was wanting to make it on thursday to put on the cake on friday to be ready for saturday. so can i make it that far in advance? does it start to crack or fall apart after that long?
