Who has a done logo cookies? How did they turn out? What was the "base" frosting to lay your image on? Sorry for the bazillion questions, but I have a order for these (I just got my printer and supplies a few weeks ago...still in box...lol) and want to make sure I cover all my bases. Thanks!

This is my design for the logo cookie. I am doing this on 3" x 5" rectangles with a pink and brown border around the edges.

Now if I can only get the darn image to produce on here... icon_confused.gif

I did mine on fondant covered cookies as well. I actually put the fondant on as soon as the cookie came out of the oven, and then put the EI on right after that. Both adhered perfectly with no added ingredients icon_smile.gif How did you make your image? Is that a software you used? I just got my printer as well and was looking for a better software program. Thanks!!

I created it in Illustrator, can also be done in Photoshop. This is my way of "sketching" out designs...(Thanks Doug icon_wink.gif )

I usually do them on buttercream, just ice the top smooth and cut the image to fit the cookie. If they are going to be bagged, I do them on a poured cookie icing (like royal icing) that dries hard. Of course, on either, I put the image on right after I smooth the icing so it's still wet, no problems!

I have my printer set to go - just waiting for my icing sheets to arrive. I've recently switched to a Mac from a PC and I'm still disoriented - does anyone here have photocookies using Mac experience (and please tell me it was fine...)!?

You can buy the edible ink and frosting paper at kopykake.com. I am sure there are other places you can buy it at too, but I am not sure where.

You do need a special printer, it has to be dedicated to doing only the edible images. When you go to kopykake.com you'll see a list of printers listed. I have the Epson C88+. I purchased it online at Office Max for around 75, then the ink was 72 plus the frosting sheets. In total to start was about 200 with shipping and all. Let me know if you have any other questions icon_smile.gif

I recently did my first bunch of edible images and found that they look much better on a white background. I will attach pictures.
I just think the white backgrounds makes the image pop. I was not too happy with the ones I did on a darker colored background.

I iced the cookies and while they where still wet i laid my image on there. Have fun!

I oulined and flooded with royal.

I did hand cut the bottles and made the neck a bit thicker since I knew I would be shipping this order and wanted to make sure they where sturdy!

When i put the edible image on the maroon colored icing they looked like crap so for the ones after that I made a white patch to attach the image to then used the maroon around that.
