Okay. I'm making some ivy using fondant and that ivy cut out with veins in it. Can anyone help me figure out how to get some kind of sheen on my ivy? Should I use oil, sugar water, what? Help!

Steam them.

I just got some gumpaste cutters in the mail today from Scott Clark Woolley and in his instructions he says to steam the leaves to give them shean.

If you just want it shiny, you can paint each leaf with a bit of water. Once dry, it stays pretty shiny. You can thin piping gel with water and it will give it a sheen--this can stay tacky for awhile if it's humid. If you have the appropriate green luster dust, you can paint it on mixed with lemon extract.

You can also rub a little crisco on them. That will make them shiny too.
