I guess I was thinking that a jelly roll pan was something that was a "tube"?? But, when I looked it up on the internet it was just the flat cookie sheet pan. Is this right???

I guess I am wanting a tube pan? Is there something like this??? Or any ideas of what I could bake out of that is a tube that is oven safe?

Thanks for any ideas and help!

How big do you want the tube to be? I sometimes bake in coffee cans!

Yes, a jelly roll pan is a flat pan and then you roll the filled cake up into a roll.

I also bake in a coffee can and food cans if I need that shape.

Yah, the technique to achieve the roll is using a sponge cake in this flat pan. You put the warm cake on a towel and roll it until it is cool. Then unroll and fill and roll back up.

wow! I didn't even know! I like the idea of a coffee can but, mine has bumps on it. How do you get those to not be there???

Where do I get the special sponge cake recipe for the jelly roll pan??

Thanks for all the help!

I have a few different ones in my cookbook. One is chocolate and the other one I believe is pumpkin. But its really thin compared to a regular recipe. If you can find one, PM me and I will give you what I have.

Line your coffee can with parchment paper. That should get rid of the bumbs.

there is a hinged bread pan that is a cylinder but I think it is ridged. I am not sure how it would work with cake batter.

Thanks guys for all the info! I think I am going to try the coffee can! i have one that is going to work perfect! I might even put a whole in the middle and fill it that way. Then it will look like a doughnut when it is cut!

Oh it's for a camera cake I am thinking about doing!

Thanks again!
