Has anyone ever used powdered Nestle Quick in a pinch while making chocolate MMF? I'm not sure if it would work, or how it would taste... but I REALLY don't want to run to the store...

I haven't, but I've wondered the same thing. It would be sweeter than cocoa powder, but might be good! My MIL makes a "to die for" chocolate cream pie with Nesquik. She ran out of cocoa while making a pie & her baby (now my dh!) was asleep, so she subbed the Nesquik & everyone raved. Now that's all she uses for that pie. icon_biggrin.gif

I made chocolate fondant this morning using powdered Nestle Quick. It is delicious!! So next time you are in a pinch, and out of Cocoa Powder, try this instead. Yum!

I use 1/2 cocoa powder and 1/2 Garadelli (SP?) hot cocoa mix and it's not as bitter. My family loves it.

I have never made the regular chocolate mmf, so I have nothing to compare it to... but this works for me icon_smile.gif

I'm not sure, but if someone were to try it, I would think some of the other liquid ingredients would have to be smaller amounts.?.?.

I used 3/4 cup. That was how much the recipe said for cocoa powder.
