ok, I am new to making cakes, and I was asked to make a shower cake. A slab that feeds approx. 80-100 people, filled with a boston cream like filling. I have no idea what to charge. Any ideas? icon_smile.gif

Check out this pricing post that was started recently. It has some pretty basic information. I would also highly suggest going into the business forum and taking a look through there as there are A LOT of pricing post.

I forgot to answer your actual question though =)

80-100 servings is a pretty big difference. For a filled cake I have 2-2" layer cakes stacked with a filling in the middle and my serving size is 1x2x4.

So...
80 servings = $200
100 servings = $250

These prices are for buttercream icing only.
