I am making my brother in laws wedding cake in december and i was just wondering if based on this sketch, you would use all fondant or if you think it would be better to do buttercream and fondant accents. I really want this cake to be special so i think i want to do all fondant however i am also a bridesmaid so time is a bit of an issue also. Also, i was wondering what everyone would charge for a cake like this. Of course my brother is getting this cake for free but i was just curious how to price this if someone wants something similar in the future. Thanks guys!

Hum, I'm partial to fondant also but layers 1, 2, 3 from the bottom could be buttercream with fondant accents. Since you will be pressed for time, I would start making the fondant accents 2-3 weeks ahead and box, seal and store in a dark place. I love the designs on this cake and I think it will turn out just beautiful.

I would charge upwards from $3.00 per serving.

I'd do the cake and decorations in fondant, with the bows in gumpaste.

fondant gives you a perfect finish, for all that detail, fondant is much better, put the butter cream underneath
