Hi. I am doing a cookie cake for someone next week and she wants it to look like a pizza. I will be doing a chocolate chip cookie recipe. I have seen the one in the 1999 Wilton yearbook. However, it uses a strawberry glaze...and I do not think that will work with my recipe. Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated! I have to do it for this coming Wed.! Thanks a bunch!

You might try using piping gel died red, or some red cookie icing.

I think red cookie icing would probably work well ..

I thought about the gel. Should I frost the cookie first with buttercream?

I would ice it with something before doing the piping gel method. Otherwise...you'll see the cookie a bit too much, I think.

The cookie icing is easy to make...let me see here....
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon light corn syrup

stir it all together and color if you want. Stir often during use to prevent a mottled look on the cookie. Brush on the cookie with pastry brush - let dry one hour before decorating.

Of course it's even easier to buy already made but.... icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks! I found a picture on a kids website that looked like a pepperoni pizza. I think I'm going to that one...I might even deliver it in a pizza box!

Delivering it in a pizza box is a great idea!
