I had an interview tonight for a Pastry Chef postion at a local Country Club. The Chef told me to come to the second interview with two things- a menu of 4-5 desserts for October, and more questions. I have no problem coming up with the menu, its the questions. I have asked the typical questions, compensation, benefits, hours, etc. but I'm not having much success coming up with more. Anyone have any ideas? And also, are there any Pastry Chefs around CC? And if you don't mind me asking, what kind of pay do you get as a Pastry Chef? Thanks everyone for all of your help!

First Congratulations I hope you get the job. Second I came up with a few questions.

How many desserts per shift will you be required to make?

And are you making all desserts or just cakes or pies.....?

How about...

Will I be in charge of the pastry area or be working under someone who is in charge of the pastry area.

Will I have people working under me or will I be exclusively in charge of and doing all the pastry's.

Do you offer compensation to take more classes for pastries?

What types of pastries do you normally make. Are you satisfied with these or are you wanting something more elaborate or elegant.

Do you certain day's for different pastries.... Saturday Brownies, Sunday Baked Alaska...etc...

Hope those help...been a long time since I was in the restaurant business..

I would want to know what kinds of things have sold well in the past. Are there any signature desserts that the country club is known for? If not, do they want you come up with something?

What does the company value most in itself? What do they do to uphold those values?

Nicoles0305-

I don't have any questions for you, but as a girl who was born and raised in PA, I just wanted to say good luck! My mom actually moved to York about 8 years ago and seems to really like it there.

Let us know if you get the job...we'll stop in and say hi the next time we go to visit! LOL!!!

Here's a good question...

Will I be able to create my own specialty desserts if chosen?

Good luck. I hope you get the position.
