okay maybe i've screwed this up.... i followed the recipe on the box - but I want this to be for a wedding so I want it to be durable - although it will be the top layer.... can I just add some vanilla pudding to it or if I do that do I have to add other stuff too?
The box called for 1 1/2 cup water
2 tb veg oil
3 egg whites
the durable recipe calls for
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup veg oil
4 egg whites
vanilla pudding mix
1 cup sour cream....
can i just add pudding???
um.... added the pudding - forgot the extra egg.... cracked it and seperated the egg white, but didn't actually add it in the cake.... so let's hope it works! I have a small 4 in. cake that I'll use as a tester - but I really don't want to bake it again!

I think it's turned out okay.... I made 2 6 in. cakes and then had a little batter left and made a small 4 in. one to tastes. It tastes pretty good but doens't have the very vanilla taste I was going for..... it's white cake with a hint of vanilla.... I put a tablespoon of pure vanilla in it and vanilla pudding.... but I just wanted a "richer" flavor and didn't get it..... but it did turn out okay and it will have vanilla buttercream on it so it should work out just fine.
