If you have the Wilton brand then yes. There are good tasting fondants out there. I love Toba Garrett's fondant recipe. It tastes divine. There are lots of people out there who are in love with marshmallow fondant. As far as store bought premade fondants - I have heard good things about satin ice and fondX.

FondX, to me, has the best flavor. It's the most like a buttercream. It may be hard to get in some places. The other complaint it gets is that its too soft for some. I think its perfect. I love MMF. I've never tried a recipe from here, but for its price and ease...definitely a favorite. Satin Ice is good, too. I've only used it one time and had some issues with it, but that may have been cause it was the black fondant. I'll have to try it again before I form an opinion on it. I use this recipe and tutorial for MMF: http://whatscookingamerica.net/PegW/Fondant.htm

I would go with Fondx or Satin Ice for premade fondant.

Can anyone tell me the best place to order Satin Ice fondant online? I can't seem to find it in any of the stores I normally shop in.
Thanks!

I make my own from the mmf recipe here and add almond and vanilla flavoring to it.

Pettinice is also comparable to the SatinIce.

mjs4492,
Which do you prefer? Satin Ice or Pettinice. I actually have never heard of Pettinice either. Wow, I must be living in a very sheltered world down here in Mississippi. icon_smile.gif Where is the best place to buy Pettinice?
Thanks!!!

Pettinice chocolate tastes like Tootsie rolls and handles really well icon_smile.gif

Kim,
If I could only have one fondant I'd have to chose the Pettinice vs. the SatinIce. I'm probably in the minority here on that one...... SatinIce is definitely close!
I order Pettinice online - either SugarCraft, IntoTheOven, CakeDeco. There is one store in Pensacola that sells it but at double the price! I heard about Pettinice and other fondants here on CC. I'm getting ready to try the FondX now. I tried ChocoPan yesterday/today and it's hard to work with in my opinion compared to the other types I've used.

This doesn't really have any "helpful" quality to it, but this post made me laugh. I'm working with a little Wilton fondant right now...because the customer doesn't plan on eating it and my 3 year old can't get enough of it! She would seriously eat the whole package if I let her. Is something wrong with this child?? I've always hated the taste of fondant and for that reason, don't like to use it much but maybe I'll try the Satin Ice.

(i attached a pic of the crazy 3 year old just for fun) icon_confused.gif
