can u bake in the kitchen aid bowl?
i need some shape of a dome or so and the kitcehn aid bowl seems perfect for it can i bake in it? icon_confused.gif

i can see nor do I know of any reason that you couldn't except for needing the bowl to be making icing while the cake bakes.

remember due to the little indentation in the bottom of the bowl, you won't get a perfect dome shape and will have to build up icing to compensate.

I agree with Doug. I have used my doll pan and just build it up on the top. Hope the bowl works for you thumbs_up.gif

do you have a pyrex bowl? i baked a doll cake in a 2-qt bowl and it came out fine.

While it was baking, I did wish for an extra KA bowl--maybe I can hint to my mil for one this Christmas!

If you have a pampered chef batter bowl that works great! I made the lamp cake in my photos with the large one!

it is not for a doll,i was looking at bridel magazines looking for a inspiration i may have a costumer frst jiji icon_biggrin.gif and she wants to try the cake for her daughter's bridel shower and if she likes it then i will be making her wedding cake ...
so i looked at a bouquet i think it was,look like a dome covered with light pink flowers...so i want to do that and in the top a precious moments bride day dreaming about her wedding
she said her daughter wants a preciuos moments wedding cake so...i think the shape of the ka it is perfect.... icon_confused.gif right?

I have baked in my pyrex 5qt measuring glass bowl. It came out fine. Good luck!!

I would NOT use my KA bowl because it costs too much to replace if it gets ruined. I just wouldn't take the chance .

I wouldn't do it, you wouldn't get a perfect dome shape anyway.

Pyrex bowls work great.
