I have an order for a cake next week. The lady it is for likes to paint so they want something that has to do with painting. She bought some paint brushes to put on the side to look like the cake was painted. She suggested like patches of different colors or something but I can not for the life of me come up with an idea or how to do the patches. Any help or ideas anyone has would be greatly appreciated!

what about if you did a cake in shape of an artists palette w/ blobs of "paint" on it.?

--------------

does she have a particular style or subject?
do you have access to photos of her work?

could do a sheet cake w/ her own image on it.

or could do a tier cake w/ images painted on sides

Do you know what she likes to paint? Maybe do a ''rough'' copy of one of her paintings.
I ''painted a pic'' for my son's 40th. It was fun. There is a pic in my photos on the 2nd page to give you an idea.
Good luck.......please post a pic when you complete it. icon_smile.gif

I didnt even think about the difference (sorry I am kinda crazy today) it is more like painting and decorating rooms, but that is a good idea.

Hi AmberC2 ~ After icing the cake and making sure it had crusted, I mixed up a few colors of piping gel and got busy painting. In the larger areas, I just blopped it on and then spread it with a brush. It was really easy!!!
Good Luck and have fun!!!!!!!!
