I am making a cake in the next couple for the customer's 5 yr. old daughter (her lil' pincess). She was wanting a princess cake with a crown and maybe some flowers. I bought a little crown (very cute) to place on the cake but I really can't think of what kind of flowers or if I should use something completely different and forget the crown. Any ideas out there would be great! icon_wink.gif

I did a cake recently that needed to have a princess theme. They wanted all the bells and whistles, but didn't want to pay a ton. It was a 2-D castle on top of a simple round cake. Feel free to check it out in my photos...I think it is called "Jia's castle". The princess/castle theme seem to really be in this summer!

Thanks guys. I did find some ardorable cakes via "serach". I don't know if I want to do a castle cake as I'm not quite ready for the challenge or used to messing with fondant. However, I need to start somewhere, right. Again, thanks all.

I did not use fondant making my daughter's castle cake last year, but it was a tad on the large size. Of course, that general design could be accomplished using smaller cakes. For something simple, "I" would probably do a crown on a round cake with some roses and pastel flowers like apple blossoms or something around it.
