I saw this cake on tv and i took a picture of it. I was wondering how do I get the look of the diamonds on the side. Do they sell them edible or is it a ribbon with some diamonds on it? Can someone help me?

I have never seen any edible diamonds. I would think it is the ribbon.

It's hard for me to see any diamonds on the picture. Are you talking about diamonds as in the jewel or diamonds as in the shape of a diamond?

I think its a ribbon with some diamond stones on them. But I have never seen them in the stores. I checked on ebay and I could not find it there either.

You might want to search for "rhinestone ribbon" or "rhinestone cording" I've seen it sold by the foot in upscale fabric shops.

If it's rhinestones on ribbon then I would try gluing some onto the ribbon after putting it on the cake. Maybe use royal icing. If you mean a diamond pattern on the cake then I use an impression mat I bought from Earlene Moore. Make sure to post your picture after you try it so we can see. icon_smile.gif It's hard to tell from the tv picture.

It is Swarvoski Crystal but I dont know if its edible. Or just glued on the ribbon. I will check to see if they sell ribbon with the Swarvoski Crystal already glued on it.

I think I saw those kind of edible dimonds. But don't remember. I will find out very soon.

Actually you don't have to order that online. Any fabric store should have that in stock! I have bought them for sewing projects and stuff like that, and desperately want to do a cake with them. I love diamonds (even in this case if they're fake!) ON EVERYTHING! icon_lol.gif

Yes, thank you everyone! I did go to my local craft store and the lady said that they dont carry it anymore. I have a few more stores to go to, if not I guess I will have to order them online.
