Wilton lists several sizes of contour pans. I don't know which one you were planning to use.

When I calculate the number of servings I figure out how much cake batter will be needed for the pan. (Measure how much water it takes to fill the pan 1/2 - 2/3 full.)

I know that a cake mix makes about 4 1/2 cups of batter. I plan for about 12 servings per mix for birthday cake. For the smaller piece usually served at a wedding I plan for about 20 servings per mix.

I think most scratch cake recipes make about the same amount of batter.

Good luck!
