I'm about to bake an 8" square. I don't use this pan too often. Can I fill the 2" deep pan with one mix? Will it overflow? I am so tired and just want to get this done and avoid two rounds. I need to purchase a second pan. Would you recommend it? I filled the pan with 4 cups of water and it hits at the halfway mark. What do you think?

Is it a box mix?? Most of my box mixes are 4 1/2 cups or even five for DH. I would collar your pan if you are going to put the whole thing in there.

The last time I made an 8" square cake I used 4 cups and the cake came out shorter than desired..so I used a whole mix -DH- and it worked perfect for me..
