I would like to know if you can attach fondant accents to cake that has been iced in Whipped cream. I am looking to attach fondant stars and sesame characters that have been made in Fondant. Also. when fondant dries does it dry hard? how long does it take to dry. i need to do the cake for saturday and im doing the sesame charaters and stars tonight. will they dry in time? thanks in advance for any advice i can get.

i would assume you could, i always put fondant on buttercream. as for drying time i know where i live (massachusetts) it's always different because of humidity. i think you have enough time.

if nothing else i'll bump your question back up so someone with more experience might help you out.

good luck!

Normally if you put whipped cream under the fondant layer it will melt, really awful by the way icon_wink.gif I don't know about just little things, it you would just place them on the cake right before serving it won't be a problem but I would not leave it on the cake overnight.

Good luck!!
