I have been looking through the past forums on painting cakes and I still have a few questions. I am making a superman cake for a groom's cake on the 4th of July. For my practice cake I covered it in MMF, and then just dipped my brush in color gel and dipped that in vodka, then I painted the cake. That didn't turn out so well, and the colors never dried. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong, and how I can fix it.

It works better if you mix the gel color and vodka on a dish. I use a paper plate to put the color in and just add vodka using a dropper, as necessary. Mix with paintbrush to the right consistency and start painting.

I would also like to know where to get an airbrush, or what to look for in one. Thanks again.

I have the Airmaster from Kopykake, with a small double action airbrush. Here's the link: http://kopykake.com/ac_compressor_airmaster.html
