I have made a cake to be picked up tonight. It is a panio cake. I have carved the cake but when I put the buttercream on it it is crumbling. Help!

Put your cake in the freezer until it is frozen. Crumb coat with a thick layer, let it crust (if your frosting doesn't crust place it in the fridge for 5 minutes) then frost. This should take care of your crumbs.

Good luck, post your pic when your done. icon_biggrin.gif

Try and put the cake in the freezer for just a short while to firm it up........

Relax it'll be fine. Prep while your cake is freezing. This will help releave some of that stress so you don't fall behind. Sometimes if we walk away and do something else for a bit things aren't as bad when we return. icon_biggrin.gif I need to remeber this one too.

Wow I can understand totally what it feels like to be under the gun time wise and have things not go according to plan...no fun. Good news is this is an easy fix, take a deep breath and like the other members said...pop it in the cooler for a bit and you should be fine. Your cake is going to be beautiful, makes sure to post pics, it sounds great!

Finally finished. It turned out great. I had to stop and go have a tea party with my daughter then come back. Putting it in the freezer worked great. My camera is in my truck that my mom is using. The lady said she would seen me a picture. Thanks for all of your advise.
