I made some chocolate covered oreos over the weekend and wanted to decorate them with the luster dust that so many of you talk about. I mixed the luster dust with some almond extract, but when I tried to paint it on it just beaded on top of the chocolate. What did I do wrong???? Please help!!!

Luster dust will only work on chocolate if you kinda brush it on with out the extract. You only use the extract on fondant or gum paste...hope that helps. PS. do not feel bad, I did the same thing with the chocolate....

You can also mix the luster dust with cooking oil and paint it on. It won't cover as well as it does on gumpaste but it will work.
