How Much Cake Mix Do I Use?

I am fairly new to cake decorating, but have always been facinated by this. So, I am trying my hand at making my son's birthday cake this weekend. I purchased the Lightning McQueen cake pan from Wilton but it doesn't specify how much cake batter to use or how much to fill it. Are there any guidelines to go by? I am thinking I should fill the pan about half way.

I think that pan takes one cake mix. Someone who has the pan can tell you for sure, but most of the character pans just need one mix.
