I'd like to bake a cake for an event in advance and freeze it, but I'm worried that the cake will not taste as fresh. Any ideas on how to freeze a cake?

Also, how far in advance can a cake be frozen?

Thanks so much!

Make sure you're cakes are well wrapped and don't unwrap them until they are thawed. That will keep the moisture in.
Cakes can be frozen several weeks ahead if they are wrapped properly.
Whether it's a good idea or not depends on who you talk too, some people swear they can taste it and it's terrible while others feel that it improves the flavor and texture of the cake so they always do it.
